We look forward to welcoming you to the lovely Kings Head Inn, in the gorgeous small village of Gunnerside, in upper Swaledale. This listed pub is a small traditional dales Inn and is drop dead gorgeous, which is frankly more than can be said for the landlord, Mike, but bless him he does offer a friendly welcome to one and all.

We offer great beers and wines and spirits. If you are lucky enough to not be driving, or even more blessed and are staying in one of the many superb cottages or B&B’s in the area, then we recommend you indulge yourself.  We also have a full range of delicious juices and soft drinks to suit all tastes for drivers, those taking care of their fitness, and little wee people. Dogs get a pretty average bowl of water.

Our food is aimed at those who enjoy a good plateful after a long walk or ride. Wholesome rather than flashy we would say. We promise that no celebrity chef has been anywhere near the stuff.

Excellent food is available at lunch (12.00 noon to 3pm) and dinner (6.30 pm to 9.00pm), and if you come in hungry of the hills mid afternoon we will do our best to rustle up a meal at other times as well.

We are open 12 noon to 11pm 7 days a week in the spring, summer and autumn.  From 1 November to 1 April we open in the evenings from Monday to Wednesday from 6pm to 11pm, Thursdays and Fridays we do lunchtimes from 12 noon to 3pm and evenings, and Saturday and Sunday we open 12 noon to 11pm.
